- Three metre diameter blue stone, book matched.
- 12mm thick tile
Brief
The brief for this entrance was firstly to find a stone suitable in colour that complimented the blue stained glass that accompanied it at the entrance to the blue bar.
The client requested that we try to cut the slabs in a way that would allow for book matching of the stone, once in tile format.
The brief also requested a 12mm thick tile to run flush with the rest of the tile.
The Challenges
The only challenge for this was the milling of the slabs prior to fabrication. Azul Macaubas is a hard quartzite stone, which makes it more difficult to mill.
Once achieved, the rest was straight forward works. The pattern cuts and vein flows work very well.
