ALUCLAD Lite - Reducing weight in style
1m² of 20mm thick granite = 60 kg m²
1m² of Aluclad Lite granite = 21.7 kg m²

Aluclad Lite panels are approximately 3 times lighter than regular stone panels. This weight reduction facilitates creative leverage for marine interior architects and designers to continue to push the boundaries of design on cruise ship and super yacht interiors.

Aluclad Lite panels are IMO Certified. The test for the honeycomb aluminium was performed in accordance with the requirement of the standard IMO resolution MSC.307(88). Fire testing procedures code (2010 FTP CODE) - Annex 1 - Part 5 “Test Surface Flammability”.
The reduced weight means less stress load is applied to the structure, allowing the lightweight stone panels to be easily supported and safely used in several areas of super yacht refit and cruise ship interiors such as wall cladding, surface tops, marine flooring, and cabin furniture. Freedom to utilise stone panels in ways that heavy stone panels cannot be used, gives viability to many designs that were otherwise not possible in the marine sector.
The aluminium honeycomb back was originally designed for the aerospace industry for its combination of strength, light weight, and durability. In fact, this backing gives more consistent, superior strength throughout the whole slab.
Due to the reduction in weight, there are cost efficiencies in labour, transportation, cutting, and the amount of actual stone required.
Aluclad Lite is the ideal solution for light architecture which is a key factor in the marine sector.

Aluclad aluminium honeycomb backing panel is distinctive by a prime coated seal, anodised aluminium sheets (PA, PVDF, PE, powder or liquid paint application) bonded to the aluminium honeycomb core.
The anodized prime coated sheets give the panels an excellent finish, while the thin layer of primer makes it possible to bond the panel to not only stone but a range of other materials. This gives designers freedom to express themselves with a range of textures.
The IMO certified aluminium honeycomb backing on our Aluclad Lite stone panels can be used in a range of applications to support false ceilings, interior walls, floors, furniture cladding and more.
Aluclad honeycomb panels are certified as material with limited flame spread as per directive MED 96/98/CE and subsequent changes. When used with an appropriate extruded profile system, Aluclad panels can be used to make certified Class C bulkheads.

Stone is a natural product of the Earth, the original green building material. It does not require other materials or resources to create it.
Granite, an igneous rock that is rich in quartz and feldspar; it is the most common plutonic rock of the Earth's crust, forming by the cooling of magma at depth.
Lightweight natural stone honeycomb surface tops are designed to provide higher strength and faster installation for exterior and interior applications.
